2010 Raising of the Water Celebration

The Fort Loudoun Lake Association's Annual Raising of the Water Celebration was once again a big success, even though the weather didn't cooperate. The event featured a two-hour cocktail cruise on the lake, live music and dancing, a catered dinner, and live and silent auctions. The 3rd-annual event, which celebrates the raising of the water in the lake by TVA to full summer levels, is FLLA's major annual fundraiser, and is hosted by the Fort Loudoun Yacht Clubbr>
Guests enjoyed cocktail and hors d'oeuvre cruises aboard yachts owned by FLLA and Yacht Club members, giving them an opportunity to enjoy an afternoon on one of our area's most beautiful natural resources, the Fort Loudoun Lake. After the cruises, guests returned to the Yacht Club for a live auction featuring water-sports equipment, jewelry, handcrafted furniture, art, spa treatments, sports memorabilia and more. After the auction, guests enjoyed dinner and a selection of wine and beer as they relaxed in the Yacht Club's well-appointed facilities and danced to live music from Poppa Hoppa.

Plan to join us for next year's Raising of the Water and our other events, all of which help us work for clean water in East Tennessee. For questions or more information, please call 865-523-3800.

**Due to US Coast Guard legal requirements, the $100 ticket price did not include the lake cruise; cruises were provided privately by the yacht owners and anyone aboard is their guest. Members of the FLLA and Fort Loudoun Yacht Club who have not purchased tickets may join the lake cruise with prior approval from the owners of the yachts, but only ticketed guests may attend the Raising of the Water Celebration in the Yacht Club’s facilities.

Special thanks to the Fort Loudoun Yacht Club for hosting this event.
